Michael Heffner-Soto was elected as County Commissioner as a member of the Libertarian Party in November of 2021.
Born and raised in Grapeseed, Michael developed an early passion for civic engagement and public service. He attended the University of San Andreas, Los Santos, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, followed by a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Los Santos University. His education has equipped him with both the knowledge and the tools to address issues related to sustainable development, environmental preservation, and community planning.
Before his election, Michael served as the Deputy Director of the County’s Environmental Conservation Office, where he worked tirelessly to implement policies promoting sustainable land use, clean water initiatives, and renewable energy programs. His role included managing projects that restored local ecosystems and improved air quality in Blaine County. Additionally, Michael has experience as a policy analyst with the state government, focusing on transportation and infrastructure improvements that support economic development in rural areas.
Commissioner Soto is dedicated to creating a more sustainable and economically resilient Blaine County. His top priorities include expanding green energy projects, supporting local agriculture, and enhancing public transportation options to connect rural communities with economic centers. He also plans to invest in programs that promote affordable housing, workforce development, and mental health services. Michael is committed to building a transparent and responsive government, actively engaging with residents to ensure their voices are heard in county decisions.
Outside of his professional life, Michael is a proud father and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family. He is an avid hiker, often exploring Blaine County’s scenic trails, and volunteers as a mentor for youth interested in environmental careers. Michael also serves on the board of a local non-profit dedicated to community wellness. His passion for both his family and his community fuels his drive to make Blaine County a better place for future generations.
