Kaitlyn Ann Walsh was appointed as the County Surveyor by the Board of County Commissioners in January of 2020. 

Since her appointment, Walsh has led efforts to modernize Blaine County’s surveying processes by integrating advanced GIS technologies and digital tools. One of her first initiatives was transitioning to a digital records management system, which enables seamless access to land data for county officials, engineers, developers, and the public. This system has streamlined operations within the Surveyor’s Office, improving the efficiency of land assessment and planning. Walsh’s forward-thinking approach has positioned Blaine County at the forefront of innovation in land surveying, enhancing accuracy and accessibility for all stakeholders.

Walsh has also played a critical role in supporting the county’s infrastructure projects by providing essential land surveys and boundary verifications for roads, public facilities, and utility systems. Her attention to detail and expertise in boundary law have ensured that each project meets legal requirements and avoids costly disputes. She frequently collaborates with the Public Works and Mapping and Zoning departments, working closely with engineers and planners to ensure that infrastructure projects are built on a solid foundation. In addition to her technical responsibilities, Walsh has made public education and outreach a priority.
