Kaitlyn Marie Sites was appointed as the Director of Public Works by the Board of County Commissioners in October of 2024. 

She holds a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her blend of technical expertise and strategic insight has quickly made her an asset to Blaine County, where she leads efforts to improve the county’s infrastructure and services for residents.

Since stepping into her role, Sites has focused on modernizing Blaine County’s public works operations and implementing sustainable practices across all projects. She is spearheading a comprehensive review of county roads, bridges, and drainage systems to assess long-term maintenance needs and identify areas for immediate improvement. Her emphasis on preventative maintenance aims to extend the life of public assets while reducing long-term costs, ensuring that county resources are used responsibly and efficiently.
