2025-2029

District Attorney

Edward Dean Pacheco was elected as District Attorney of the 2nd Judicial District of the State of San Andreas in November of 2024.

Pacheco attended San Andreas State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. During his undergraduate years, he was active in student government, participating in debates and community service projects aimed at improving the lives of local residents. His academic achievements earned him a spot at the prestigious San Andreas Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) with honors. His time at law school was marked by a commitment to understanding both criminal law and civil rights, establishing a foundation for his future career as a prosecutor.

After completing his law degree, Pacheco began his legal career as a clerk for the San Andreas Court of Appeals. His work there exposed him to the intricacies of the judicial system, honing his legal research and writing skills. He was particularly drawn to criminal law, recognizing its powerful role in shaping society and serving as the backbone of the legal framework that ensures justice for all.

Pacheco soon joined a prominent law firm in San Andreas, where he worked as a litigator for several years. His caseload was diverse, but he quickly gained a reputation for his diligence and ability to navigate complex criminal cases. He also represented individuals in civil matters related to personal injury and business law. However, his passion for criminal justice led him to transition to the public sector, where he felt he could contribute more directly to his community.

In 2013, Pacheco joined the San Andreas District Attorney’s Office as an assistant prosecutor in the 2nd Judicial District. His early cases included prosecuting drug trafficking offenses, violent crimes, and organized criminal activities. Through his years in the District Attorney’s office, he demonstrated a fierce commitment to fairness and due process, while remaining unyielding in his pursuit of justice.

By 2018, Pacheco was promoted to a senior prosecutor, overseeing high-profile cases involving public corruption, white-collar crimes, and cold cases. He became known for his strategic approach in the courtroom, building strong cases based on evidence, while remaining compassionate toward victims and families affected by crime.

One of Pacheco's most notable achievements during his tenure was his leadership in securing convictions in several significant cases involving organized crime syndicates operating within the state. His work garnered praise from both colleagues and members of the legal community for his unwavering focus on bringing offenders to justice.

In 2024, Pacheco set his sights on a new challenge—becoming the District Attorney for the 2nd Judicial District of San Andreas. The district, encompassing some of the state’s most populous and diverse urban and suburban areas, was facing increasing challenges related to crime, safety, and justice reform. Pacheco’s extensive experience in both trial work and leadership within the District Attorney’s office made him a natural candidate to lead the office through these turbulent times.

Throughout his campaign, Pacheco focused on several key issues, including:

Criminal Justice Reform: Advocating for systemic reforms to ensure fair sentencing, improve rehabilitation efforts for offenders, and reduce recidivism rates. Pacheco championed alternatives to incarceration, such as community service programs and restorative justice initiatives.

Public Safety and Crime Reduction: Promising to continue the work of reducing violent crime, particularly in communities affected by gang violence and drug-related offenses. He emphasized the need for proactive measures, such as community policing, while ensuring the safety of residents.

Victim Advocacy: Committed to providing comprehensive support for victims of crime, Pacheco advocated for enhanced victim services, including counseling and financial assistance. His platform emphasized that victims' voices must be central to the prosecutorial process.

Transparency and Accountability: Pacheco promised to foster greater transparency within the District Attorney’s office, ensuring that the public’s trust in the justice system was upheld. He pledged to implement technology-driven reforms that would streamline case management and improve communication with the community.

During the campaign, Pacheco's message resonated deeply with voters who were seeking both accountability and compassion in their leadership. His reputation for fairness and tireless work ethic was a key element of his success. In November of 2024, after a competitive race, Pacheco was elected as the District Attorney for the 2nd Judicial District of the State of San Andreas.

Since assuming office, District Attorney Pacheco has hit the ground running, bringing fresh energy and a results-oriented approach to the 2nd Judicial District. He has implemented several new initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the District Attorney’s office, including the creation of specialized units to address cybercrime, human trafficking, and environmental law violations.
