Alexis Melissa Martinez was appointed as the Director of the Technology Department by the Board of County Commissioners in January of 2023

She holds a Master’s degree in Information Systems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington. Known for her strategic mindset and commitment to innovation, Martinez is focused on advancing Blaine County’s technology capabilities to better serve its residents and departments.

Since taking on her role, Martinez has launched a county-wide digital reformation initiative to enhance connectivity, efficiency, and security across all departments. This initiative includes updating legacy systems, expanding cloud services, and optimizing data management practices. By introducing automated workflows and data-driven tools, Martinez has significantly improved the efficiency of day-to-day operations, enabling county departments to deliver faster and more reliable services to residents.
