Aaliyah Madeline Escalante was elected as County Commissioner as a member of the Democratic Party in November of 2024.
Commissioner Escalante was born and raised in Paleto Bay, where she developed a deep commitment to serving her community from a young age. She attended the University of San Andreas, Los Santos, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, followed by a Master’s in Public Administration. Her education provided her with a strong foundation in public policy, government operations, and community engagement, preparing her for a career dedicated to public service.
Before her election as County Commissioner, Aaliyah built a career focused on advocating for economic development and social equity within Blaine County. She served as the Director of the County's Economic Development Office, where she successfully led initiatives to attract small businesses and create job opportunities. Her experience also includes working as a policy advisor for the state government, where she focused on issues related to affordable housing, healthcare accessibility, and workforce development.
Commissioner Escalante is passionate about improving public services, supporting local businesses, and ensuring that all residents have access to affordable healthcare and housing. In her role, she aims to enhance community resources, increase transparency in government processes, and promote sustainable growth in Blaine County. Her top priorities include launching initiatives to address homelessness, expanding mental health services, and creating policies that attract clean energy businesses to the area.
A dedicated advocate for her community, Aaliyah is also a member of several local non-profit boards and volunteers with organizations that provide resources to underprivileged youth. When she's not working, she enjoys hiking the scenic trails of Blaine County, attending community events, and spending time with her family.
